Ann Herrington is a woman on a mission. Her goal has always been to improve the lives of pets and inform animal lovers about how they can better provide for their furry friends. Over the years, that mission has taken many different forms. In the late 90s, she organized quarterly adoption events where
she lived in Las Vegas.
She made great strides in educating the public on overcrowded shelters, backyard breeding, puppy mills, and the need to spay and neuter pets. She is responsible for bringing about laws to protect animals and punish their abusers, and even held a protest at the headquarters of Disney Studios, to educate the public about the Disney movie 101 Dalmatian’s cruel aftermath.
When she moved to Prescott, AZ, she went on to start the Prescott Dog. She established Big Dog Charitable Foundation in 2013 and in 2017, she founded her 4th publication,
The Tucson Dog Magazine.

Publisher and Editor in Chief of The Tucson Dog Magazine since 2022. As the previous owner of a local Home Health Care company, Heather often found herself helping find new homes for the pets of her hospice patients. In 2017 her spark of passion and true love for animals was fueled to fire when she met Ann Herrington, then owner of The Tucson Dog Magazine. She worked closely with The Tucson Dog for 4 years before acquiring the publication in March of 2022. She has always had a profound love of animals outside of her own cats and dogs, but through The Tucson Dog she came to realize her potential in helping. Heather’s love of our most vulnerable populations has led her to Home Health Care and helping all animals in need.
